I believe that each one of us is placed on this planet with innate gifts, strengths, personalities, core values as well as life and educational experiences that allow us to bring something to the world that no other individual can bring. I believe it is our joy and our duty to explore what that uniqueness is and to serve for the betterment of humanity by sharing our uniqueness through work, relationships, leadership in business and service. One way I contribute is by teaching and mentoring new coaches as they have the opportunity to go out and reach others. As a human being, I contribute by affirming and empowering others to live their truth.

As we embark on this journey together it is with profound honor and joyful anticipation that I meet you here today. It offers a new opportunity in the fulfillment of my purpose and, hopefully, a realization of your vision and dreams. My intent is to work with you as a co-creator in the fulfillment of your mission.
I come to you with 24 years of management in the healthcare industry, followed by nine years serving as a life transformation coach and as a leader in the ICF Heartland Chapter and the ICF Midwest Regional Advisory Council to advance the art, science, practice and success of professional coaching. This has allowed me to stay apprised of the direction and initiatives of ICF Global as well as the opportunity to help influence the profession. As such, I am also a credentialed coach and mentor coach through the ICF.
Having been a part of getting Avila University’s Advantage Leadership Coaching Certificate program approved for ACSTH status, I love teaching and mentoring new coaches as they complete that certification. At 15 years old, I was deeply touched by residents of the mental health facility in St. Joseph, MO during a field trip with my high school psychology class. An interaction with one woman in particular where no intelligible words were actually spoken, but a heart touch was made, let me see the humanity of this troubled soul. That day, I left knowing I wanted to help and honor people at a profound level.
Being a girl in a conservative rural community did not provide the mapping to seriously consider becoming a psychotherapist (though that came later). I married my high school sweetheart at a very young age, worked in the family business, had a daughter, and ended up divorced at the age of twenty-seven. This was followed by many years of working to support my daughter as a single parent and going to school to complete my education in psychology and in business.
As life progressed, my daughter married and built a family of her own; the time came to pursue my life purpose on a different level. I worked with a therapist to help discern my next step. She suggested that I would make a great coach. When she told me what coaching was, it absolutely set me on fire! I had realized years before that working with people who had pathology, as most psychologists do, was not something I was able to sustain and stay personally balanced. After learning about the profession of coaching, and that it entails work with people who are foundationally healthy and want to move forward in life, work, and relationship, I knew I had found the answer to my calling.
My mission is to help others discover and embrace the complete picture of the highest truth of who they are intended to be. I believe each of us is given a life mission to fulfill a unique purpose in service to the greater good. It comes through our work, relationships, service, leadership and community. Having the opportunity to support leaders and coaches to hone their skills and live their dreams of helping others is my profound honor. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share in this journey.
